Mode du Jour ("Style of the Day") is an app designed to help the user plan outfits ahead of time and schedule them for certain days. Users keep an inventory of clothing that they own, and it is sorted into categories based on color, occasion and weather. The app then draws from its set of simple icons and available colors to represent each item.

Knowing that clothing, bodies, and fashion can be emotionally and culturally charged topics, I purposely chose soft colors, fonts, and illustrations in order to create an experience for the user that avoids as many emotional triggers as possible. The app also purposely does not include an avatar or any representation of a body besides the head of the Style Assistant icon.
